Search Engine Optimization is the science of improving a website to increase its visibility when people search for products or services.
Search Engine Optimization involves a wide range of strategies that fall into two categories; Off-page optimization and On-page optimization.
Off-page optimization refers to all activities that are done directly off the website to raise the ranking of a page in search engines. Link building, forums, influencers outreach, content marketing...etc are some of the off-page SEO techniques.
On-Page SEO
On-Page SEO (or On-Site SEO) is the process of optimizing web pages to rank higher in search engines for specific keywords to increase organic traffic. It involves aligning page-level elements like title tags, headings, and content as well as search intent with a specific set of keywords.
Here are a few techniques that can be used to improve the website's On-Page SEO.
1. Integrate relevant keywords to the webpage:-
Keywords trigger your website to appear in relevant searches. To find the right keyword conduct keyword research. The focus keyword of a webpage should be directly stated in the title tag, URL, content, image alt text...etc
2. Optimizing the head and body parts.
On-Page optimization can be done in two parts;

The Head part of a webpage includes the title tags and the meta descriptions.
Title tags
The title tag appears as a blue line of text in the search result that people can click on to navigate to the webpage of a website.
A tile tag looks like this;

To have a click-worthy title tag;
- Stay within 60 characters limit.
- Place the focusing keyword towards the front of the title tag.
- Avoid spelling and grammatical errors.
- A title should be attractive and impressive.
- The pixel width limitation should be within 512 pixels.
- Complete capital or small letters should be avoided.
Meta descriptions
A meta description is a brief note or description that appears below the title tag. This description provides the audience a summary of the webpage. The meta description doesn't directly impact the ranking of a webpage, but it can help guide people to choose your listing.
A meta description in HTML view looks like this;

To have a compelling meta description;
- Stay within the 155-160 characters limit. (If the meta description is given for a blog, then it must be within 150 characters. Because in the case of blogs published dates are also shown in the meta description.
- Use your core keyword in the description.
- Summarize what people can find on your page.
- The pixel width limitation should be within 1024 pixels.
- Use power words like exclusive, free, discounts...etc
A robot meta tag also known as a robot tag is a piece of HTML code that is placed in the head section of a webpage and is used to control how the search engines crawl and index the URL.
A robot meta tag looks like this;

- Whether or not to include a page in search results.
- Request not to index the images on a page.
- Whether or not to follow the links on a page.
- Request not to show the cached results of the webpage on the search engine results page.
- Request not to show a snippet(meta description) for the page on the search engine results page.

Snippet
A snippet is a single search result in a set of search results and generally, it consists of the URL, title, meta descriptions...etc of the webpage.
b)Body part
The body part of a webpage contains the header tags, content, images, links...etc
Header tags
Visible as <H> in your HTML code, header tags are scanned by search engine bots and are the portion of your content.
H1 SEO tips;
- Always include an H1 tag.
- Use only one H1 tag per page.
- Include the focusing keyword for your content.
- Avoid the usage of keywords too many times in the H1 tag.
- Avoid contradictions between the H1 tag and the content of a webpage. If any contradictions occur then the webpage will be saved in a temporary database called the sandbox.
Along with the H1 tag you can also place H2, H3...and other heading tags anywhere on the body part of a webpage.
Content Optimization
A big part of getting your content to rank in search results is making it user-friendly for the audience. If your pages to rank, focus on the following tips:-
- Try to add a focusing keyword in the first few sentences itself.
- Make it simple and easy to understand.
- Use bulleted lists to find important pieces of information fast.
Image optimization
Visuals are an important component to provide a positive user experience on your website. Image optimization involves creating and delivering high-quality images in the ideal format, size, resolution...etc

How to add hyperlinks?
Copy the web address of the page you want to link to.
Then select the text you want to be the hyperlink.
Click on the hyperlink icon and paste the copied URL.
